Tony Banegas, MPA Program Officer Arizona Community Foundation

 

Vital Stats: Name: Reyes Antonio Banegas (Tony); 48 years; married; 2 daughters: Sara Camille (17) and Sabrina Antonette(16)

First/Most Interesting Jobs:Promotor Social (Social Worker) had a chance to work with 9 small rural communities on a variety of issues including health, education, community development, etc, etc in Jesus de Otoro, Honduras.

Hobbies/Favorite Pastime: SOCCER (is there anything else out there?)

Path to Philanthropy:Path to Philanthropy: I spent 7 years in the catholic seminary hoping to become a priest. Worked with Franciscan and Jesuit priests in many urban and rural towns in Honduras and learned first hand of disparities among human beings as far a wealth accumulation and made a commitment to work with the less fortunate to help narrow the gap. I also studied philosophy and liberation theology during that time.

Current Position: Program Officer, Arizona Community Foundation and Honorary Consul of Honduras in Arizona Favorite Quote or Motto:
